Paint with a Local Artist

Hosted in collaboration with local artist Shelly, this expressive mixed media workshop is all about creating freely, getting a little messy, and reconnecting with creativity without worrying about perfection.

Shelly, a 21-year-old Northern California native who moved to rural Maury County at age seven, has spent years exploring art through a love of nature, oddities, texture, and self-expression. Her work embraces the weird, the organic, and the beautifully imperfect — and this class encourages participants to do the same.

Expect an evening of layered textures, experimental materials, painting, collage, and creative play in a relaxed, community-focused environment where there’s no “right way” to make art.

Participants are encouraged to bring extra art supplies, scraps, papers, paints, or materials to contribute to a shared community “creative hot pot” so everyone can experiment with different mediums throughout the night.

Whether you’re an experienced artist or someone who “hasn’t made art in years,” this space is meant to be welcoming, expressive, and just a little chaotic in the best possible way.
